Bougainville Park house is located in Marseille's 3rd arrondissement, on a 700 m2 plot of land on the edge of the park whose name it bears. It houses a nature centre open to the public and an educational garden, where primary school children can observe flora and insects, and even experiment with the life cycle of plants (from sowing to harvesting) to help them learn to respect the environment.
This unique “community centre”, where nature has reclaimed its rightful place, consists of a single-storey, ashlar building compliant with the standards of French label BDM (Bâtiments Durables Méditerranéens). “The building is dedicated to environmental education and awareness. It meets a number of environmental requirements, in terms of insulation and airtightness, as well as the origin of electrical equipment”, explained business manager Youba Mazouz.
Our experts carried out high and low voltage work, and installed access control and the intercom, anti-intrusion and fire safety systems for this building designed to welcome the public. “We also fitted energy meters on all the electrical outlets, and the power of the lighting installed complies with the lighting thresholds established for the entire site”, continued Youba Mazouz.
Set beneath the high-rise tower blocks, the building consists of a single ground floor, well-insulated (by floor slab, ceiling and walls) and topped by a planted roof on rough-cast concrete. It was designed as a showroom by the Zakarian-Navelet agency, with wooden joinery and air circulation units instead of air conditioning. It was handed over at the same time as the first part of Bougainville Park (inaugurated on February 24, 2024), which will soon extend over four hectares south of the Aygalades urban valley.
