In Dakar, Two New Milestones Achieved on the Mamelles Desalination Plant Development Project

News from Senegal... regarding the development project for the Mamelles seawater desalination plant.
  • Microtunneling excavation completed for the 340m seawater intake pipeline;
  • GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) connected to the 90 KV loop.

This plant, the largest in West Africa, will play a crucial role in improving the water supply to the Senegalese capital. Initial production will be 50,000 m³ of water per day, with an ultimate capacity of 100,000 m³ per day, meeting the growing needs of the Dakar population.

A big thank you to all the Eiffage Génie Civil Marine teams who have been mobilized on this project for the past 2 years!

Eiffage Énergie Systèmes and Eiffage in Senegal are assisting our teams in the design of this first seawater desalination unit in West Africa.
