Started in 2023, the works included several major phases:
The refurbishment of 3,400 m² of roofs, including the three iconic domes dating from 1875, true symbols of the local thermal architecture. Listed as a Historic Monument, the building benefited from a restoration respectful of the prescriptions of the Architects of the Buildings of France, with particular attention to the choice of tiles and the preservation of the framework.
On June 27, 2024, one of the domes was replaced in a grand ceremony, under the amazed eyes of local residents. This new dome, reproduced identically, replaces the one installed at the opening of the establishment in 1877.
The complete interior renovation of 4,800 m², including the restructuring of offices, reception areas (standard, premium, and children), the central hall, and waiting areas, to improve the user experience.
The building’s energy modernization, notably with connection to the district heating network and insulation of the waterproofed roofs.
The Grands Thermes remained open throughout the construction, proof of a meticulously planned organization!
A project carried out in synergy with Eiffage Energies Systèmes, responsible for electricity and HVAC – Plumbing works.
The delivery of the final phase was completed in May by our teams.
Congratulations to all the teams involved in the successful rehabilitation of this emblematic site in the heart of Auvergne!
