A new headquarters for the Port of Marseille Fos

On September 25, we were in Marseille alongside the leaders of the Port of Marseille Fos with architect Corinne Vezzoni to publicly unveil the outstanding design, construction, and maintenance project for the port's future headquarters and adjacent public spaces. The project also involves the renovation of the historic "J0" hall dating from the 19th century.

Since 1850, the maritime port has created an incomparable link between Marseille and the world, between La Joliette and the sea. But over time, this strong bond has weakened. And an entire district has gradually been deprived of the sea, of brilliance, of attractiveness. Re-establishing this link between city and port, between sea and land, is the challenge taken up by this project.

A future headquarters open to the city and almost already at sea, a new contemporary and sustainable headquarters for the teams of the Port of Marseille Fos. A reopened and rediscovered hall, a thoroughfare, a lively place, a future cultural hub, a place of activity and relaxation. Contemporary, sustainable architecture that respects Marseille and its history. All of La Joliette becomes attractive once again.

To make a difference, between technical constraints and urban ambition, we are creating new passages for everyone, for views and light; we are creating a link between Marseille and its port, between the people of Marseille and their sea, between 1850, 2025, and the coming century.
