Pollutec 2023 highlights

Round Table no. 1: Ecological engineering – a growth area

Since 2014, Eiffage has been promoting ecological engineering by incorporating biodiversity issues into the design and construction process. This is essential to embedding respect for biodiversity into our civil engineering, building, rail, road and motorway concessions business lines.

Round Table no. 2: Soil optimisation and wastewater reclamation

The Eiffage Group is committed to a low-carbon approach, driven by a strong ambition: to actively contribute to building a more energy-efficient, more sustainable Europe, with strong energy sovereignty. To this end, the Group operates a development strategy based on the production of renewable energy for its own needs and those of its customers.

Round Table no. 3: High quality of life in urban environments

The Group is implementing solutions to improve quality of life in the face of climate change. Eiffage created the HQVie® label, which defines the design profile for a High Quality of Life® project based on factors including urban, social and climate conditions.

Round Table no. 4: Becoming part of the virtuous circle that is the circular economy

In line with its commitment to environmental transition, Eiffage has for many years taken a circular economy approach, which in 2022 culminated in the creation of a formal strategy based on four pillars: reducing the extraction of natural materials, developing a business line around material flows, prolonging the life of structures, and designing reversible structures.

Round Table no. 5: Optimising processes to reduce emissions and wastage

Eiffage’s environmental transition strategy is linked in part to the environmental challenges facing its industrial customers and the impact of their activities on its reduction targets for upstream Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions. Among the action levers available, judicious consumption and improved energy performance in their facilities make perfect sense.

Round Table no. 6: Biodiversity: a responsible approach

For 15 years, Eiffage has been following a voluntary policy of biodiversity protection, and has created two three-year action plans to renew its commitment to the French Office for Biodiversity’s “Companies committed to acting for nature” initiative. The aim is to limit the impact each of our business lines has on biodiversity erosion in every phase of their projects, but also on our own sites.

Round Table no. 7: Contributing to European re-industrialisation

The current geopolitical context has led France, and more broadly, Europe, to adopt a policy of re-industrialising production in various sectors: health, digital, batteries, etc. This issue of industrial sovereignty is central to Eiffage’s growth strategy.
