On the Puerto Antioquia project, the bridge over the Rio Leon has been commissioned, and over 1,000 piles have been driven!

Heading to Antioquia, Colombia, where our teams deployed on the Puerto Antioquia site have just reached two major milestones.

The commissioning of the bridge over the Rio Leon, which now connects the onshore terminal platform to the 3.4 km offshore viaduct. This bridge, designed by BIEP, features a central span of 160 meters and was constructed using the balanced cantilever method with 5-meter-wide precast segments.

The completion of offshore pile driving operations, carried out using our EGCM004 barge. More than 1,000 piles, each measuring between 65 and 85 meters in length, were driven in a single pass by our teams. The piles were manufactured on-site using over 44,000 tonnes of steel coils and a dedicated production facility specially set up and operated by Arcelor for the project.

At sea, civil engineering works are now focused on finalizing the quay and the offshore viaduct.

On land, teams are fully mobilized to complete the future 33-hectare logistics platform, including utility networks, roadways, container storage areas, and the 34 buildings required to operate this port complex, which is set to significantly boost the development of the Urabá region in Antioquia.

A big congratulations to all our teams on the ground for their unwavering commitment to delivering this complex project.
