Photogrammetric inspection by drone enabled the establishment of a preliminary diagnosis prior to the demolition and identified structural weaknesses in the chimney: degraded facing, waterproofing failure, and significant cracks with a continuous length of 2.35 meters.
The meticulous deconstruction, within 50 cm of the buildings housing the furnaces, was carried out in two phases:
- An initial manual top-down dismantling phase using pneumatic tools, from the top of the chimney to a height of 12 meters;
- A second phase, for the final 12 meters down to the base, using a 336F 40T excavator.
The unique diameter of this chimney, ranging from 1.2 meters to 5.5 meters, required the installation of a specific elevating platform to ensure safe deconstruction.
Congratulations to our teams involved in this project!
Carrying out complex deconstruction through precise photogrammetric diagnostics, while ensuring the continuity of the site's activity, makes all the difference!
