In Togo, the Aképé Technical Landfill Centre is expanding

Built and operated since 2016 by Eiffage's teams in Togo, in partnership with CWA and GER, the Aképé CET (Technical Landfill Centre) is a sub-regional model for solid waste management.

Following an initial construction phase, operation of the first phase began in 2018. The project is currently in the expansion phase (construction of cell 2) and continuation of operation (cell 1, firm tranche).

Significant achievements include:

  • Development of access roads and a technical reception area.
  • 5 waste storage cells, for a duration of 5 years.
  • A wastewater treatment plant, using a planted filter basin.
  • A biogas evacuation network and the installation of a flare.

In figures, this project represents:

  • 400 m³ of leachate denitrification ponds
  • 15,800 m³ retention basin
  • 3,200 linear meters of drainage networks

Located on 94 hectares, the CET receives and processes an average of 20,000 tonnes of waste per month.
