Toulouse metro: Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Berthe de Puybusque achieves first breakthrough

On Monday, September 29th, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) achieved its first breakthrough at Fondeyre Station.

Fondeyre Station: Having traversed over 1 km from the future La Vache-Le Grand Marché station, Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Berthe de Puybusque will soon resume its journey towards its next milestone, the Ponts Jumeaux Station, entailing the excavation of a further 1.4 km of tunnel.

Ponts Jumeaux Station: Upon arrival at the station, the TBM will be dismantled and transported back to the future La Vache-Le Grand Marché station to undertake a 2.1 km section towards the future Raisin Station.

The TBM shield will be transferred by road convoy from Ponts Jumeaux to its departure station, and the 5 trailers will be transported through the tunnel. This is a delicate operation, considering the progress of the civil engineering work at this station and the existing constraints.

A huge congratulations to all the teams involved!
