Eiffage Énergie deploys ultra high-speed broadband for Covage Networks in Lille Urban Area

Covage Networks, the infrastructure operator specialized in the design, deployment and operation of ultra high-speed broadband networks, has chosen to entrust the deployment of one of these networks to Eiffage Énergie Telecom's teams. The ultra high-speed electronic communications network is intended for the private individuals, corporate customers and public sites in Lille European Urban Area.

Our teams are responsible for the network design and implementation studies, and will carry out field surveys and take charge of engineering drawings and civil engineering plans, analyzing, managing and presenting this geographical data via a geographic information system (GIS).

After this preliminary phase, our teams will undertake the optical and civil engineering infrastructure work, rolling out and connecting fibre optic cables, installing optical connection nodes and commissioning the street cabinets. However, the project also involves civil engineering work, and our teams will have to dig trenches using traditional mechanized methods, do the necessary drilling and install appropriate overhead supports in order to carry it through successfully.

The works began on 9 April 2017 and are scheduled for completion in mid-February 2018. The project represents around 2,795,000 euros of revenue.
