“eMAT” is a unique tool designed to optimise the management of Group equipment and machinery

This project, led by fifty experts from the Eiffage business lines, will see a unique management tool deployed across all the divisions in France and Senegal, covering 150,000 pieces of equipment and machinery and 20,000 vehicles.

It’s a solution dreamt up and custom-designed by and for people involved in and responsible for the management of Eiffage Group equipment. Known as “eMAT”, the tool is designed to optimise the maintenance, management and employment of 150,000 pieces of equipment and machinery and 20,000 vehicles used by all the Eiffage divisions in France and Senegal.

Since February 2016, fifty experts from the Group, with support from project management (MOA) and the information systems department, have been involved in the step-by-step development of this solution that will be shared across all the divisions. “The application has been co-developed by and for professionals working in equipment management,” indicates Mikael Goëta, head of project management and Patrick Reno, project manager. “The steering committee includes heads of equipment management, among others, and is guided by Laurent Girou,” they add.
“eMAT” will be perfectly adapted to their everyday needs, as it is based on a computer-assisted maintenance management (CMM) tool marketed by Infor, which met with unanimous approval thanks to its wide range of functions and ease of use.

The application will provide a cross-divisional perspective of the entire fleet and will guarantee the availability of equipment, compliance with regulations and requirements, and enable optimal usage. In practical terms, it will be accessible via PC, smartphone and tablet and should also be available via a touch screen terminal in workshops and storage facilities for greater flexibility. “eMAT” will cover the maintenance, employment, and management of equipment, as well as the management of workshops and vehicle assets, procurement, and budgeting and investment.

DEPLOYMENT ACROSS ALL BUSINESS UNITS
The contract, signed on 22 July 2016 by the Group’s financial director Christian Cassayre, will allow access to an unlimited number of users for a period of three and a half years, which will motivate the deployment of “eMAT” at a steady pace.

Initially, the solution will be trialled as of June 2017 at a pilot site – the Stinkal quarry operated by Eiffage Route Nord-Est (Nord Pas-de-Calais). It will then be rolled out to three other sites as of September 2017 - Eiffage Construction Matériels Nord-Ouest, Eiffage Route Aquitaine and Eiffel Industrie. General deployment is scheduled to begin in January 2018.

A change management plan has already been designed and programmed, with 5,000 people in France and Senegal affected by the project, and 1,500 of these impacted in their core business. It combines all possible methods to ensure the highest level of effectiveness: traditional face-to-face training, training provided by equipment services personnel, e-learning and self-training video modules. The solution is designed to be simultaneously multi-lingual and multi-currency and, in addition to Senegal, could eventually be deployed in other countries where Eiffage is based.
